8. Google Workspace for Stream Deck — Google OAuth & User Data
Last Updated: March 2026
The Arise Google Workspace for Stream Deck plugin suite (Arise GWS) uses Google OAuth 2.0 to read data from your Google account and display it on Stream Deck hardware keys. This section explicitly describes what Google user data is accessed, the sole purpose for which it is used, and how it is protected.
Google User Data We Access
The plugin requests read-only access to the following Google services. All access is strictly limited to displaying information on your personal Stream Deck device:
- Google Calendar: Read-only access to calendar events (titles and start times). Used solely to display your upcoming events on Stream Deck keys.
- Gmail: Read-only access to Gmail message metadata (unread count and subject lines). Used solely to display inbox status on Stream Deck keys. Message bodies are not read.
- Google Drive: Read-only access to file metadata (file names and modification timestamps). Used solely to surface recent file activity on Stream Deck keys. File contents are not accessed.
- Google Docs: Read-only access to document titles. Used solely to display the active document name on Stream Deck keys.
- Google Sheets: Read-only access to spreadsheet cell values from user-specified ranges. Used solely to display live cell values on Stream Deck keys.
No Server-Side Storage:
Arise Create does not store, transmit, or process any Google user data on its servers. All data fetched from Google APIs is consumed directly by the plugin via the gws CLI bridge running on your local machine. No Google user data is ever sent to Arise Create infrastructure.
All Data Stays Local:
The gws CLI runs entirely on your local machine and communicates only between your device and Google's APIs over HTTPS. Your OAuth access token is stored in your machine's local credential store and is never transmitted to or accessible by Arise Create.
Revoking Access:
You can revoke the plugin's access to your Google account at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/security, navigating to "Third-party apps with account access", and removing the Arise Google Workspace for Stream Deck application.
