ChromeShift
ChromeShift assigns any Google Chrome profile to a Stream Deck key. One press opens Chrome in the right workspace instantly. Stealth Mode adds optional Incognito launch with no extra steps.

What it does
If you keep separate Chrome profiles — a work account and a personal one, for example — switching between them means clicking your avatar in the top-right corner, waiting for the menu, and selecting the right profile every single time. ChromeShift eliminates that friction entirely.
Assign any Chrome profile to a Stream Deck key and Chrome opens in that profile on press — the right workspace, instantly.
Each key can target a profile, open a specific URL in that profile, or launch a Progressive Web App (PWA) installed inside the profile. A PWA is a web app installed directly from Chrome that opens in its own window without the browser toolbar.
Actions
- Launch Profile — opens Google Chrome in the selected profile.
- Launch URL — opens Chrome in the selected profile and navigates directly to a URL.
- Launch PWA — opens a Progressive Web App installed in the selected profile as a standalone window.
Stealth Mode
Enable Stealth Mode in a key's settings to open the selected profile directly in an Incognito window. No separate Incognito action or extra keypress needed.
Profile picture on the key
Each key automatically displays your Google Account profile picture for the assigned Chrome profile. You can tell at a glance exactly which workspace a key opens without needing a custom label.
Setup
- Install ChromeShift from the Elgato Marketplace.
- Drag a ChromeShift action onto a key.
- Open the key settings by clicking the key in the Stream Deck app. Your Chrome profiles will appear in a dropdown.
- Select the profile you want that key to open.
- Optionally add a target URL, enable Stealth Mode for Incognito, or set a custom label.
Requirements
- Windows or macOS (13.0 or later)
- Google Chrome installed in its standard location
- Elgato Stream Deck hardware
- Stream Deck software
Troubleshooting
- No profiles appear in the dropdown — Open Chrome at least once so it writes its profile data, then close Chrome and re-open the key settings in Stream Deck.
- The wrong profile opens — Chrome may have renamed a profile directory internally after you added or removed a profile. Open the key settings and reselect your profile from the dropdown.
- Key shows a brief alert flash — Chrome cannot be found at its install path. Make sure Chrome is installed normally, then reinstall ChromeShift.
- Stealth Mode doesn't open Incognito — Confirm that the Incognito toggle is enabled inside that specific key's settings.
- Profile picture not showing — The picture is read from your local Chrome data. Open Chrome and sign in to sync your profile picture if it has not appeared yet.
