Arise Controller for Webex

Arise Controller for Webex puts mute, camera, raise hand, share, chat, and leave meeting on your Stream Deck. Each key shows the live state of the meeting. On a Stream Deck +, the mute and camera dials show time left, a progress bar, and recording and sharing status. No sign-in, no tokens, no companion app.

  • Six meeting actions
  • Live key status
  • Dials on Stream Deck +

Not available yet

Arise Controller for Webex is coming soon to the Elgato Marketplace. Until then it cannot be installed. This guide describes the first version.

Arise Controller for Webex on a Stream Deck + with meeting keys and two dials.

What it does

Webex has no Stream Deck support of its own, and no local interface to build it on. Arise Controller for Webex puts the controls you need during a meeting on dedicated keys, so you can focus on the conversation instead of hunting through the Webex window.

Since every key shows the live status, you never have to guess whether your camera or mic is on or off.

Actions

Drag any action onto a key in the Stream Deck app.

  • Toggle Mute: mutes and unmutes your microphone.
  • Toggle Camera: turns your camera on and off.
  • Raise / Lower Hand
  • Share Screen: opens the share picker. While you share, the same key ends the share.
  • Toggle Chat: opens and closes the chat panel.
  • Leave Meeting: as host, leaving ends the meeting for everyone, so Webex asks first. The key leaves that prompt to you unless you enable automatic confirmation in its settings.

Stream Deck + dials

Toggle Mute and Toggle Camera also work on a dial. Press the dial to switch.

  • Mute dial, scheduled meeting: the touch strip shows the time left and a progress bar up to the scheduled end. Past the end, the bar turns amber.
  • Mute dial, instant meeting: the touch strip shows how long the meeting has been running. The bar measures one hour and starts again.
  • Camera dial: shows a red "● REC" while the meeting is recorded, "‖ REC" while recording is paused, and "Sharing" while you share your screen. Otherwise it shows the scheduled end time.

Key colours

  • Bright green: on. Mic live, camera on, hand up, sharing, chat open.
  • Dark green: off. The key is ready and switches it on.
  • Amber: Webex is running, but there is no meeting yet.
  • Grey: Webex is closed, or the control is not available in the current Webex view.

Setup

No accounts, tokens, or configuration. Install, drag, and use.

  1. 1Install Arise Controller for Webex from the Elgato Marketplace.
  2. 2Drag the actions onto your keys, and on a Stream Deck + onto a dial.
  3. 3Open the Cisco Webex desktop app. The keys turn amber while no meeting is running.
  4. 4Join or start a meeting. The keys show the live state and are ready.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • Cisco Webex desktop app, set to English or German (the browser version is not supported)
  • Stream Deck software 7.0 or later
  • Any Stream Deck; the dials need a Stream Deck +

Troubleshooting

Keys stay grey: Webex is not running. Start the Webex desktop app; the keys update within a few seconds.

Some keys are grey during a meeting: Webex does not offer every control in every view. While sharing, only mute, camera, and share are available; in the minimised bar there is no raise hand.

The dial shows no time left for a scheduled meeting: open the Meetings tab in the Webex app once. The plugin picks up the scheduled end within a minute.

Keys stopped working after a Webex update: restart the Stream Deck app. If a key stays grey, contact us so we can adapt the plugin.
